Sound of the HELEN test has been filtered to simulate a profound hearing loss. Voicing is presented as a 115HZ tone. Intensity of the tone is determined by the intensity of 500--1kHz speech signal. Voiceless fricatives are silent. A high pass filter is in place for signals above 5 letters, and if there is significant energy above 5k it wil trigger a 300Hz tone. Good representation of time and intensity cues.
